Download Panopto Personal Recorder
Log into Canvas to access your course site. In the course menu, select “Panopto Recordings.”
Once in the Panopto course folder, click on the folder icon, located in the gray box below the sorting features. This is the “assignment folder.”
Then, click on the red “Create” button at the top of the screen  and select “Record a new session” .
A new window will open. If you are using Panopto for the first time, select “Download Panopto.” The recording sofware will guide you through the installation process. If you have already installed Panopto, it will open automatically. If the Panopto app doesn’t launch automatically, click “Open Panopto.”
Recording in the Panopto Personal Recorder
When the personal recorder opens, it will automatically log you in using your BC credentials (could take up to 10 seconds). If the software doesn’t automatically log you in, click the “sign in” button  and then use your BC username and password to log in (same credentials as the Agora portal) .
Before recording, check to make sure that the assignment folder for your course as been selected . You can use the arrow icon to search for the appropriate folder. Next, give the recording a title . By default, Panopto will title your session by the date and time.
Use the video  and audio  menus to select your computer’s built-in microphone and camera, or external hardware. If you plan to use a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation, select from the options on the bottom left corner of the screen. When you are ready, click the “Record” icon in the upper left corner of the window.

When your recording is complete, Panopto will prompt you to upload it to your course’s assignment folder. If you want to start over, select “Delete and record again.” If you are happy with your work, click “upload.” You can also edit the recording title in this window.
