Teaching during a pandemic prompted instructors to rethink the purpose, priorities, and methods of their teaching. The six major themes from instructors’ commentary on their pandemic teaching—simplicity, flexibility, connection, structure, communication, and technology—invite us to reconsider our past teaching assumptions, even as we re-enter more traditional learning environments and full-capacity classrooms.
That said, as the pandemic continues and social norms shift, new pedagogical challenges present.
