CFLC Proctored Exams

If you have students working with the Connors Family Learning Center (CFLC) to take proctored exams, here are a few suggestions for making that process smoother (for both you and your students):

  • After receiving a Clockwork request from the CFLC, please enter the length of time the class has for the exam as soon as possible (even if you’re not yet ready to upload the exam). Getting this information early enables CFLC staff to accommodate more students.
  • If it is feasible, allow for some flexibility on when, during the day, the student can take the exam. This helps when scheduling students who have back-to-back exams.

If the exam is on Canvas or another online platform:

  • Please indicate this under “special considerations or instructions” and include any codes or passwords the student will need to access the exam.
  • Double check that the exam start time and length of time allotted is correct (see how to provide extra time in New Quizzes and Classic Quizzes). The CFLC, which proctors students throughout the time they are taking exams, asks instructors to use 8:00 pm as the end of the availability window, to prevent students from being timed out prematurely.
  • Provide contact information (phone number or email) so that you can be reached if any technical issues arise.
